The burgundy on Hortense was chosen to work all year: dark enough to sit against a winter coat, warm enough not to harden a lighter outfit. Under raking light it leans brown; in daylight the red comes forward.
The hide is a full-grain cowhide with a fine, even grain. It softens with use: for the first few weeks the bag holds its shape, then it takes on the movement of the shoulder and settles into its final form.
The front carries the two vertical zips that mark the house, here in aged brass to stay within the same family of tones as the leather. Inside it takes a thirteen-inch laptop, a wallet and a pouch without strain.

The bag is really beautiful and spacious, the material feels very close to leather. There's a standard crossbody strap and another one for carrying on the shoulder. It arrived on time and well packaged, in a dust bag and a plastic sleeve. Very happy with my purchase.

An incredibly cool bag, and above all, really spacious. Nice to the touch, short comfortable handles (there is also a long strap, but I don't need it yet). There is a small zipped pocket inside and two sewn-in pockets on the other side. They are not very deep, but they are really handy for a mirror or a folding comb. The zip feels good quality. The stitching is even and there are no loose threads. The bag has almost no smell.

As a handbag, it's good for classes and there are pockets inside. Top quality. However, delivery took more than 10 days!! And nobody told me about the delays. I had to send an email to be reassured that my bag was actually coming. I didn't even get a tracking number. I can understand you may have transport or logistics issues, but the least you could do is let people know
I bought this bag for my daughter and she's happy to go to school with it. The only problem was the delivery time, which was a bit long (12 days). Customer service was responsive though, and told me it was due to a high volume of orders during the back-to-school period. A tracking number would have been appreciated..
